Friday night, Nov. 5, four local DJs will take some of the best local bands, feed their binary information through tubes and the occasional hamster wheel and make never-before-heard remixes.
A first for local music, Red Bull Locally Thrown features a collaboration of local bands (BRONCHO, Crocodile, Colourmusic, DEERPEOPLE, Hi-Pop!, Jabee, PDA, Recorder, Sam & The Stylees, Shiny Toy Guns, Stardeath and White Dwarfs, The Moai Broadcast and The Non) mixed by local DJs (John Bourke, DJ Moody, DJ Diverse & Jeremy Dawson of Shiny Toy Guns).
Each of these techno-music making impresarios were given one month to create these remixes that will be debuted at Cain’s, Friday night.
Recorder and PDA will be the live entertainment.
Bob Wills might be rolling over in his grave. But then again, he was the first act to use drums at the Grand Ole’ Opry, so maybe he might be into it. Either way, it’s never been done before.
7 pm - doors open, 8 pm - show begins
All ages. Tickets $5 in advance at www.cainsballroom.com or at the door.
