Tulsa's newest bookstore has opened in the Heights just north of downtown.

Fulton Street Books and Coffee, 210 W. Latimer St., opened Friday, July 3. The coffee shop portion will open the third week of July and space will be reservation only for the time being. Hours are currently 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The inventory is comprised of at least 70% of books written by or featuring people of color and/or marginalized communities.

Fulton Street is named after the street that owner Onikah Asamoa-Caesar's family grew up on in Elizabeth, New Jersey. For more read our story about Asamoa-Caesar or listen to her recent Tulsa Talks podcast conversation
