Bone broth popsicles

Bone broth and collagen have been blowing up in health and beauty news the past few years. I am not a nutritionist, but it makes sense to me that something our ancestors evolved eating (the bones, skin, and connective tissue of animals) might be helpful for some of our modern-day health problems.

That’s why I was excited to see AliMade Food – a business selling locally made bone broth – at the Kendall Whittier Farmer’s Market one morning. Proprietor Ali Hanson sells all the normal kinds of bone broth – chicken, beef, pork – but she also has something surprising on the menu: bone broth popsicles! Let me tell you, they are delicious. They taste like sweet fruit smoothies, with not a hint of brothy flavor.

So, if you have been interested in trying bone broth, but are not interested in the taste, try a pop instead! Broth pops come in three flavors: Strawberry Banana, Tropical Mango, and Triple Berry.

Find Ali at the Kendall Whittier and Rose District Farmers’ Markets or visit alimadefood.com. Follow her on instagram @alimadefood.
