The Broken Arrow Community Playhouse is excited to present the timeless classic musical THE WIZARD OF OZ (R.S.C. 1987) August 9-11, and 16,-18, 2019. Fridays and Saturdays are at 7:30 PM Sundays at 2:00 PM at the Playhouse located at 1800 S. Main Street in Broken Arrow. This production will be fun for all ages!

2019 marks the 80th Anniversary of the iconic award winning film The Wizard of Oz. The (Royal Shakespeare Company 1987) version is considered the most faithful adaptation written for the stage. You will hear all of your favorite songs: “Over the Rainbow,” “Munchkinland (Ding Dong! The Witch Is Dead),” “If I Only Had a Brain/a Heart/the Nerve,” “We’re Off to See the Wizard (Follow the Yellow Brick Road),” “The Jitterbug,” and “The Merry Old Land of Oz.” Click your heels together three times and join The Scarecrow, The Tinman, The Cowardly Lion, Dorothy… and Toto too, as they journey through the magical land of Oz to meet the Wizard and obtain their hearts' desires.  Rediscover your love of the story of Oz in this fantastic musical treat for the whole family and join us as “We’re Off to See the Wizard!”

Director Samantha Kennedy has assembled a large cast of actors of all ages, and Music Director McKenzie Perry with Choreographer Shaina Wise, are hard at work to make The Wizard of Oz a spectacular opening for our 40th anniversary season. Scenic Designer Aaron Kennedy is creating a wonderful visual experience not seen before at the BACP!  Several of our talented cast come from right here in Broken Arrow, but we also have some that hail from Muskogee, Sapulpa, Glenpool, Bixby and Tulsa. The cast includes; Hannah McSpadden, Jordan Buie, David Grant, Harlee Cartee, Kurt Bennett, Barry Wise, Samantha Dunne, Tim Dunn, Kyra Burrup, Noelle Aafedt, Monica Bader, Mallory Berry, Kaden Burrup, Abby Darden, MacKenzie Egger, Anna Farley, Nico Hoover, Brittain Kennedy, Rockland Kennedy, Alexxa Jackson, Samantha Jesperson, Sarah Jones, Spencer Loeffler, Chloee Lovins, Claire Shannon, Hailey Zachary and Amanda Welch.
