Clark Youth Theatre Presents The Penguin Project ® Seussical Kids!

Clark Youth Theatre announces the fourth annual production of The Penguin Project®. Students with disabilities will perform Seussical Kids. Performances are Feb. 15-17, 2019 at Cascia Hall PAC, 2520 S. Yorktown Ave.

The Penguin Project® provides an opportunity for children with disabilities to develop creative skills related to the theater arts. The program includes children with cognitive, learning, motor, hearing and visual impairments; genetic disorders; and neurological conditions, and their student mentors.

Clark Youth Theatre is proud to be the first theater in Oklahoma to produce The Penguin Project®, conceived by Dr. Andrew Morgan, professor emeritus of clinical pediatrics at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria. Since 2004, The Penguin Project® has produced one musical theater production each year at Eastlight Theatre in East Peoria, IL. Since Clark began producing the Penguin Project, the national organization has grown from seven to 29 replication sites around the country, and The Penguin Project® has won the 2017 National Arts and Humanities Youth Program Award.

The production is directed by Norah Sweeney, with music direction by Tammy Slack and Kate Hughes, assistant direction by Sophia Brenneke choreography by Darla Cooper, and stage management by Cathy Blackmore and assistant Doug Owens.
