Spotlight Hosts Song Legend Don White & Songwriter Bernie Nelson

Nashville hit singer-songwriter Bernie Nelson and Tulsa’s legendary singer-songwriter Don White will be performing together in listening room style at the historic Tulsa Spotlight Theater, performing their original music in an up close and personal, story-telling type acoustic show. Along with The Spotlight Theater the show is presented by new Oklahoma based entertainment company Workhorse 615.

Tickets are $12.00 and can be purchased at the door the night of the event.

Bernie Nelson is an Americana/Country/Red Dirt artist and an A-list, multi-platinum songwriter whose discography reads like the “who’s who” of country music. He has written songs exceeding 25 million in sales including #1 Billboard hit, “Daddy Never Was The Cadillac Type” with Confederate Railroad. Pam Tillis’ music video, “Betty’s Got A Bass Boat” received accolades of “CMT Video of The Year.”

A few of the artists that has recorded Bernie’s songs are; Neal McCoy, Colin Raye, Crystal Gayle, The Oak Ridge Boys, Tracy Lawrence, John Anderson, Kenny Chesney, Trace Adkins, Randy Travis, Kris Kristofferson, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Wynonna, Conway Twitty, Chris Ledoux Montgomery Gentry, and Craig Campbell. Bernie has been touring in Texas with his Americana-Red Dirt show and has branched out into Oklahoma.

Native Tulsan Don White is one of the originators of the Tulsa Sound with his smooth blend of Rhythm and Blues, Country/Blues, and his signature Honky Tonk Shuffle. Recently White received a personal request form Eric Clapton to join him on his new album, “The Breeze: An Appreciation of JJ Cale. White was a featured artist along with; Tom Petty, John Mayer, Willie Nelson, and Mark Knopfler.

Don White has performed as a solo act in concert with Waylon Jennings, J.J. Cale, Dwight Yoakum, Suzy Boggus, Willie Nelson, Don Williams, George Strait, Merle Haggard, Delbert McClinton, Toby Keith, Marty Stuart, David Allen Coe, and Ry Cooder among others.

Don White’s songwriting credits include; Rosanne Cash, The Oak Ridge Boys, Suzy Boggus, Razzy Bailey and Davis Daniel. He is also a regularly requested studio musician who has performed on records with Waylon Jennings, Marty Stuart, The Tractors, Johnny Rodriguez, Jamie Hartford and J.J. Cale.
