Since taking office as Mayor of Tulsa in December 2016, G.T. Bynum has brought a new energy and youthful innovation to the office, including his communication methods.
Mayor Bynum will speak about his efforts to bring a renewed spirit to the city of Tulsa through his institution of new initiatives and a heightened use of social media. He will highlight his ongoing social media strategies, why he uses social media to remain close to his constituents, and the importance of responsible social media usage by political figures.
The Association for Women in Communications Tulsa Chapter hosts monthly lunch programming from September through April annually. Fall topics range from social media, organizational voice, and blogging. Speakers include Mayor GT Bynum, the new Artistic Director for Living Arts, Jessica Borusky, and more.

The AWC Tulsa Professional Chapter has remained the national organization’s largest chapter over much of the past three decades, with more than 120 members.
“The knowledge base within this group is incomparable,” said Hannah Jackson, chapter president and Senior Account Executive for Schnake Turnbo Frank. “We have members who are just starting their careers and communications legends strengthening each other’s experience because of their active participation.”
