Grand Celebration

Date/Time

Mar 27, 2017 to Jun 2, 2017
10:45 AM until 10:45 PM

This event occurs every 2 week(s) on Sunday.

Description

Home of Hope’s Grand Celebration, June 3, will honor Oklahoma’s past and present governors for their significant efforts on behalf of individuals with disabilities.  Honorees Governor Mary Fallin, along with former governors Brad Henry, David Walters, and George Nigh are planning to attend with spouses, to participate in the evening.  Confirmation from Governor Boren is pending.  Former Governor and Mrs. Frank Keating, who have a previous engagement, will be honored for their many contributions as well.

The Grand Celebration gala will combine this recognition by Home of Hope with the rebirth of a Grand Lake icon as one of the first events held at the new Shangri-La Resort’s hotel and convention center.  The event will also serve as an opportunity for Shangri-La to honor Governor George Nigh for his support of Grand Lake including hosting the 1982 National Governor’s Conference, and as a timely opportunity to celebrate former Governor Nigh’s 90th birthday.

A pre-event reception, silent and live auctions, fabulous dinner and drinks, will round out the evening supporting programs that make significant differences in the lives of individuals with developmental and other disabilities.  Your support is greatly appreciated and needed in this time of funding reductions.  Donations help cover many vital, yet unfunded, needs of our clients, including meals, activities, medical expenses, staff training, transportation and job coach expenses.  The individuals we serve, their families, and our 300+ employees are grateful for your generosity.

You may purchase tickets to the Grand Celebration at www.homeofhope.com or by contacting Misty Bingham, Marketing and Development Officer at 918-256-7825, Ext. 168 or by emailing misty.bingham@homeofhope.com.

Home of Hope, established in 1968, serves more than 200 persons with developmental and other disabilities with the mission to promote choices, independence, and a meaningful way of life.  Operations in Vinita, Claremore, Miami and Pryor currently employee over 340 staff members.
