Figures In Skating: A Night of Puppetry, Songs & Storytelling

Co-hosted by Josh New and the Tulsa Artist Fellowship, a cultural initiative of the George Kaiser Family Foundation, Karl Jones presents Figures in Skating, an evening performance of mixed media, songs, activities and puppetry exploring the lives of eight figures from the world of competitive ice skating. The show documents the lives of cultural icons and champions including Tonya Harding, Nancy Kerrigan, Surya Bonaly, Dorothy Hammil, Brian Boitano, Debi Thomas, Midori Ito, and Kristy Yamaguchi.

Doors open at 7:30 p.m. Wine, beer, and soft drinks will be available for $2.00. Limited capacity so please purchase tickets online. Couch, chair and criss-cross-applesauce seating available for the 1 hour performance beginning at 8:00 p.m.

Karl Jones is a Brooklyn-based artist and editor. His work has appeared at NYC venues such as Dixon Place, The Tank, THNK 1994 Museum and the Pyramid Club, as well as cultural institutions throughout the United States including the Hirshorn Museum (DC), the San Francisco LGBT Center (SF), and the Walters Art Museum (Baltimore).
