Cooking Up Compassion

ABOUT THE EVENT:  Long time donors Margo and Kent Dunbar are Honorary Chairs for the event. Now in its fourteenth year, Cooking Up Compassion raises funds for the programs of Catholic Charities of Eastern Oklahoma—14 programs and 6 outreach centers  aimed at helping our neighbors in need and making Eastern Oklahoma a better place to live.  About 1,000 people attend the Mardi Gras-themed event.  It is a chance to come together as a community and to reinforce the mission to be Christ’s merciful love to those who suffer.

DATE & TIME:  Saturday, February 23, 2019 from 6pm-11pm

LOCATION:  Tulsa Ballroom at the Cox Business Center- 3rd & Houston- Downtown Tulsa

ATTENDEES:  Individuals, corporations and foundations join the cause to serve the poor


  • To celebrate the mission of Catholic Charities and all of its accomplishments
  • To raise $800,000 in operating support for all of the programs of Catholic Charities – serving those in need without regard to race, color or creed
  • To celebrate and enjoy the community that gives of their time, talent and treasure to make Eastern Oklahoma a better place to live



  • “Let the good times roll” (or “Laissez les bons temps rouler”) with appetizers prepared by some of the area’s most prominent chefs
  • Raffles for 5 spectacular gifts and a chance to win a special surprise
  • Live Auction of 5 exceptional experiences with professional auctioneer Mark Schenfeld of Stokes Auction Group
  • Dinner by Chef Devin Levine and dancing to the sounds of the Zodiac band



  • Individual tickets start at $200 per person (special “under 30” pricing at $150 per person)
  • Patron Tables can be purchased from $4,000-$50,000 and include seating for 10


Cooking up Compassion is staffed by volunteers. The 2019 Co-Chairs are Laura & Kevin Duffy and Annette & Kevin Murray.
