Book Signing - Hannibal Johnson's new OK history book, The Sawners of Chandler, Tulsa Historical Society, 2445 South Peoria Ave.,Thursday, May 17, 7:00 pm. George and Lena Sawner lived the American dream at the turn of the 20th century, but like other African Americans in Oklahoma they battled waves of bigotry and intolerance reminiscent of the Jim Crown South. This is their story, a tale of triumph amidst a backdrop of tragedy.
