The good life
New suites at ONEOK Field will offer baseball fans a luxurious experience while catching a game.
Forget the peanuts and crackerjacks. When the Drillers move to their new home at ONEOK Field in the spring, true-blue fans will be able to take in a game while living in the lap of luxury.
Recently released final plans for the new stadium include 23 luxury suites for companies and individuals looking for an upgrade from the cheap seats.
Each suite will come loaded with a wet bar, granite countertops, a full-size refrigerator, buffet counter, wireless Internet and flat-screen TVs, complete with both basic cable and a stadium feed.
In addition, suites will have both indoor and outdoor seating.
“We are extremely excited to offer this premium seating option to baseball fans in Tulsa,” Drillers President Chuck Lamson said in a statement. “Not only will the suites provide great views of the game; they will also provide great views of downtown Tulsa.”
In other words, the bleachers these are not.
The suites will be offered in two sizes — 358 square feet and 425 square feet — and contain 12 outdoor padded seats and eight indoor seats (four barstools and four premium arm chairs). And forget fighting lines at the concession stands. Food can be pre-ordered and purchased from an exclusive menu and will be provided through hostess service.
Each suite also comes with four parking passes for a reserved lot one block from the ballpark, exclusive access to the suite-level club and private suite-level restrooms.
As of press time, 21 suites will be sold on full-season plans. The remaining two will be offered on a per-game basis. Commitments for full-season suites range from five- to 10-year terms. Each suite includes 20 tickets to all ONEOK Field events, with three exceptions per calendar year.
Of course, such luxuries do come with a price tag. Suites will start at $25,000 per year for multi-year commitments and will go for as high as $35,000. Prices are based on term of commitment and location.
One thing’s for certain — as they root, root, root for the home team, fans indulging in suites may never want to leave the old ball game.
