Chai tea recipes from Mecca Coffee
Mecca’s Mmm Mmm Chai
- Fill a pan with a half-cup of water.
- Add a spoonful of tea leaves, crushed ginger, sugar as needed and, if you’d like, crushed cardamom into the water.
- Boil the mixture for about 3-4 minutes based upon how strong of chai you prefer.
- Add a half-cup of milk.
- Boil again for a few minutes.
- Filter it into a cup or glass.
- Enjoy!
Mecca's Spicy Holiday Chai
- Boil the following ingredients for 5 minutes, then steep 10 minutes:
1 tablespoon fennel or anise seed
6 green cardamom pods
12 cloves
1 cinnamon stick
¼-inch ginger root, sliced thin
1/4 teaspoon black pepper corns
2 bay leaves
7 cups water
- Add 2 tablespoons Darjeeling tea, bring to a boil and simmer 5 minutes.
- Add 6 tablespoons honey or brown sugar and 1 cup milk.
- Enjoy!
