Tulsa’s 25 most notable homes
It began as a monthly TulsaPeople column in the mid-1990s. Titled “Historic Homes,” it was written by John Brooks Walton, a noted Tulsa architect, historian and author. As TulsaPeople editor at the time, I was surprised by readers’ seemingly insatiable curiosity about their neighbors’ dwelling places. Before long, Walton wrote “One Hundred Historic Tulsa Homes,” then “One Hundred More Historic Tulsa Homes.” In 2010, a fourth book was published. It is from the hundreds of homes Walton profiled through the years that these 25 most notable Tulsa homes have been drawn.
