My habitat: Jack Arnold
Architect and founder of Jack Arnold Cos.
Jack Arnold has been happily married to his wife, designer Susan Arnold, for nearly 22 years, but his first love was architecture.
“It’s a passion for me,” Arnold says.
That would explain why the architect draws for hours every night.
“I get an idea and can’t wait to see what happens with it,” he says. “It’s not drudgery; it’s kind of exciting.”
The Tulsa native and graduate of Central High School and The University of Oklahoma School of Engineering has built quite a following over his 42-year career. Arnold’s residential architecture is widely known throughout the United States, and his work frequently appears in national publications.
His distinctive designs reinvent Old World elegance to meet the needs of a modern lifestyle.
Every room should serve a purpose, Arnold says, and the overall home should enhance your life.
“I want to design spaces that give good energy, rooms you love walking into.”
Although designing a home is a collaborative process between homeowner and architect, Arnold says he is careful to adhere to one rule: “It’s their house, not mine.”
