Makeover magic
Every Sunday evening fans across America sit down in front of their televisions to see a deserving family receive a new home. For those who tuned in May 9, the scenery may have looked familiar, as “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” chose Tulsa’s own Starkweather family to receive a home makeover. Here is a behind-the-scenes look at how Simmons Homes and the cast and crew of “Extreme Makeover” transformed the Starkweather home.
Simmons Homes has participated in three “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” projects, including the Starkweather home. Company owner Greg Simmons is especially appreciative of the people of Tulsa while working on projects. “‘Extreme Makeover: Home Edition’ tells me this is one of the warmest, friendliest cities they come to,” he says. “Tulsa shows up and puts their hand out. I knew that, but I can’t give everyone enough thanks. I’m proud to be a part of a city and group of people that cares so much.”
