An Oklahoma State University graduate with a master’s degree in counseling from Oral Roberts University, Donna Brollier never dreamed she would own a business, much less a retail clothing and gift store. But “today’s woman can have it all,” says the independent business owner of Donna’s Fashions.
Brollier credits her love of fashion, her high school and college retail experience, and a passion for people as the ingredients for her success over almost 12 years. But she is also quick to give credit to her six employees — whom she calls an “amazing fashion team always willing to offer the best in customer service” — and to her customers.
“Our customers are a remarkable mix of crossgenerations, from mother to daughter and now even husbands and fathers,” she says.
Also a proud wife and mother to three children: Corey, 15; Tristan, 3; and Ashtyn, 21 months, Brollier says, “It’s a wonderful, busy life.”
Donna’s continues to evolve with popular lines such as Alberto Makali and Joseph Ribkoff, and the store includes a “Denim Bar” with designer jeans from Miss Me, David Khan, Christopher Blue and more. Donna’s also features a Men’s Corner with the Tommy Bahama Collection, plus gifts, perfumes and accessories. As Donna’s store motto says, this shop is about “More than just fashion.”

4. “The Choice” by Og Mandino and “Girlfriends 2.0” by Cindy Morrison: Two must-reads for the summer. The first is a powerful, unforgettable story that sends a new message of hope. It’s brilliantly written. The latter is by my friend and Tulsa’s own Morrison and reminds you of the importance of girlfriends.
5. Batman movies: From “Batman Returns” to “The Dark Knight,” I have them all. It must have something to do with the mysterious man behind the mask.
6. Music: From the Eagles to Garth Brooks to Keith Urban to Jack Johnson, I’m a huge music buff. Please don’t make me pick just one.
7. Tan Towels: My summer necessity. These self-tanning, odorless towelettes leave no streaks for the perfect “just kissed by the sun” look.
8. Rolex watch: My treasured keepsake given to me by my parents.
