During the cold winter months, stay warm by becoming active indoors through fitness and family-friendly activities.

Tulsa Parks
Opportunities include:

  • Free personal trainers at Central Park
  • Free access into the Chamberlain Park gym
  • $2 ladies 30-minute private weight training session at Lacy Park
  • $10 Zumba dance lessons at Owen Park
  • $25 Tai Chi lessons at Hicks Park, for five visits
  • $25 per month cardio kickboxing at McClure
  • League sports such as recreational dodgeball at Whiteside, $80 per team.

Tulsa Community College Fitness and Wellness Centers Donate to TCC’s Alumni and Friends Association and get access to the workout facilities. Fitness Center memberships, $50 per semester; $25, summer. Includes all fitness classes, rock climbing wall, cardiovascular area, indoor walking and jogging track and aerobics room. 595-7977

Skating
Skates Center Besides hosting birthday parties and private parties and keeping its rink open to the young and old on wheels, Skates offers a great deal every week for local roller skaters. Outdoors

Tulsans enjoy being outdoors, and once spring arrives, area parks will be the place to stretch out and get active.

Tulsa Parks Spend an afternoon at one of Tulsa’s 125 parks, 197 sports fields, 83 playgrounds, 109 tennis courts ($30 series tennis lessons are available at Hicks Park), the River SkatePark or 69 picnic shelters. Joe Station Bark Park Tulsa’s first off-leash dog park allows our furry friends to run around a converted baseball field with an area for large dogs and one for small dogs. Dogs can swim in small pools in both areas and water pails are available to fill. 2279 Charles Page Blvd., www.tulsabarkpark.com. Open daily from 5 a.m.-11 p.m.; closed Wednesday until noon for park maintenance.

Bicycling
