Winter fashion must-haves

Top-five must-have items for the fashionista’s holiday season, as recommended by Tulsa shops.

CHROME CLOTHING CO. says you need:

- A staple pair of premium denim with any fit from a dark, clean pair of skinny jeans to your distressed and destroyed ex boyfriend.

- Boots, boots, boots ... whether they hit at the ankle or come up over the knee

- Sequins - need we say more.

- Accessories - bangles, scarves and hats – oh, my!

- Plaid and/or flannel wovens and dresses. They can be paired back with skinny jeans, leggings or even cowboy boots.

MISS JACKSON’S says you need:

- Glitzy! Lots of sequins! Just all around glitz in your party outfits for the holiday parties this year.

- Feminine touches like ruffles. Hard and soft details look great. Think long boyfriend cardigan with a ruffle blouse underneath.

- Embellishments with your jewelry. Big necklaces are a must have for the season.

- Jewel and bright tones in your wardrobe. Just because it's not summer doesn't mean you can have some colors in your outfits.

- Grecian influenced dresses. One shoulder is a big trend still going on for those special occasions you will be attending.

FLIRT says you need:

- Sequins. Whether it's a dress, blazer, skirt or tank, add some sparkle!

- Boots! Ankle skimming to thigh high, find the one that is right for you.

- Heavy metal. Learn to love the mixed metal necklaces of all different
lengths.

- Boyfriend blazer. Although a bit 1980's, you can wear it with everything from jeans to a cute dress.

- Ruffles. They instantly add a flirty femininity.

LITTLE BLACK DRESS says you need:

- Something with sequins. A top, jacket or even leggings with sequins can add holiday sparkle to something in your existing wardrobe.

- A well-fitting black pantsuit. It can be dressed up or down with accessories and is always a safe bet for a party, no matter how dressy.

- Something with a tuxedo influence. A tuxedo jacket, or a fun top with tuxedo details can dress up jeans. Or try tuxedo-inspired pants or denim.

- A little black dress. Get some jewel-tone tights or leggings and a shoe-bootie to make it edgy, or add some vintage jewelry for a timeless look.

- A jewel-tone dress or top. Those dark, rich colors are in for winter, look great with most complexions, and add depth to neutral tones already in your wardrobe.

Don’t forget the men in your life.

Chrome Clothing Co. says the following trends are must-have items in men’s fashion this holiday season:

- Plaid and/or flannel wovens with or without pearl snaps.

- Clean, slim, form-fitting premium denim.

- A pair of white or black Chuck Taylor tennis shoes.

- A versatile blazer that could be worn in the office or out for cocktails

- Everything from jackets and wovens to henleys and polos that are military inspired with epaulettes.
