James E. McNellie’s Public House
Hands down (glasses up), McNellie’s is the leader in Tulsa for the largest and most interesting collection of beers. The downtown pub has a great burger and Irish fare to soak up the suds.
Best margaritas
Los Cabos Mexican Grill & Cantina
This is one of Tulsa’s hottest destinations for margs, and the terrific lineup of Mexican cuisine adds the perfect touch.
Best sake with sushi
In the Raw
A little ginjo sake paired with sashimi — In the Raw rocks. And the restaurant’s killer list of martinis makes this a prime haunt, especially on weekends.

Vintage 1740
More than 60 selections are offered by the taste. Tulsa’s best winetender, Matt Sanders, hangs here. Sanders is a terrific mixologist as well and has some of Tulsa’s best cocktails in addition to wine by the glass and bottle.

The Brasserie Restaurant and Bar
Whether you have a cosmo inside at the popular bar or outside on the cool patio, you’re in for a treat. Grab a baguette and some butter to munch on as you sip the night away.

Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar
Having a choice of around 100 wines to order by the glass or bottle is what makes Fleming’s so hot. Fleming’s servers also are highly trained on the wine list and can offer some of the best advice in town on what to order and why it goes well with your food. What a relief!

Lucky’s
Matt and Brooke Kelly carved out a niche for themselves in the Tulsa market with their “20 for $20” wines on their wine list. The wines over $20 are super as well. Decide what you are worth and get lucky with this great wine list.
Best bar for dinner and a drink
Polo Grill
When I want a nice glass of wine, a prime burger or steak and the coziest atmosphere in Tulsa, I head to the Polo. The booths in the bar are roomy with a television perfectly situated and a noise level that’s tolerable.
Best frozen drinks
The Brook
August is our hottest month in Tulsa, so head to the Brook for a frozen daiquiri. Order up some cheese fries with ranch dressing for a little slice of heaven.
Best Italian wines
Biga Vino e Cucina
Biga continues to hold the top slot for best Italian wines by the glass and by the bottle. Head to Biga for one of the Monday night $30 dinners, which are the best bargain in town.
Best place to sip wine outside
Stonehorse Café
The patio at Stonehorse is the place to be from spring through fall. If you can find a spot by Stonehorse to sit on Thursday nights in the Square, grab a cold glass of white wine and a wood-fired pepperoni, mushroom and black olive pizza.
Best high-end and extensive wine list
Polo Grill
For the best selection in town for Bordeaux and Burgundy wines, hop on your high horse and head to the Polo. Robert Merrifield has been collecting wine for his restaurant for years and Tulsa is proud to have such a fine list.

Bonny Doon, Vin Gris de Cigare 2007, California Rosé — $16.39
There’s not a hotter month in Oklahoma than August, and if I had just one wine to pick to please the masses, it would be a dry rosé. It’s heavier than white wine, lighter than red wine, served chilled (45 to 50 degrees) and it’s ultra vogue! The Cigare is mainly Grenache, Cinsault and Syrah. Enjoy this red wine dressed in a frilly skirt.
