The first step to healthier living

I saw a video last week called "23 1/2 hours." If you can find a spare 10 minutes sometime today, I highly recommend you watch it (see the video below). It lays out how the absolute best treatment for any number of physical maladies -- the wonder drug, if you will -- is simple physical activity. To be more precise: walking. Just walking.

I won't go into the specific data presented (but once again I urge a viewing of the video), but it's an eye-opener, maybe even a mind-blower. Dr. Mike Evans relays the results of several medical studies in a surprisingly engaging and clever way, and he ends the presentation with a challenge: Whether it's zoning out in front of the TV or working eight hours a day at a desk, if you must sit -- and let's face it, we all sit an awful lot -- only do it for 23 1/2 hours a day. Carve out just 30 minutes a day to get up and move around, even just a walk around the neighborhood, and your health will be vastly improved.

No Boundaries offers a proven approach to training that gets you on the road to fitness safely and effectively. By providing an encouraging, welcoming and safe environment you can feel confident knowing this entire program is designed to help you move off the couch and on the road to your first 5K.

Class Format: Two weekly organized and coached training runs or runs/walks, weekly motivational and educational e-mail, weekly handouts on training topics, daily training schedule, educational clinics, a special No Boundaries technical shirt, a goal event, graduation party and more.

Weekly Classes:

  • Mondays & Wednesdays at 5:50 p.m. — Fleet Feet – KingsPointe
  • Tuesdays & Thursdays at 5:45 p.m. — Fleet Feet – Blue Dome

Registration is now open for the spring session of No Boundaries I. Cost is $89. Classes begin Feb. 8 at the KingsPointe store and Feb. 9 at the Blue Dome store.
