Port in a storm
Forecasts call for a nasty winter storm to hit town any minute now. By the time you read this our city might be a frozen tundra.
How lucky for all of us that the King of the Beach himself hits town just in time to transport us all to the land of sunny skies, flip-flops and — of course — tangy frozen drinks.
Jimmy Buffett, the legendary singer-songwriter whose laid-back brand of ocean-centric tunes and beach-bum philosophy has inspired a cult-like following and become a worldwide brand in itself, comes to the BOK Center tonight (Dec. 5) with his trusty Coral Reefer Band to make us all forget the snowy weather outside.
Buffett's classics include the ever ubiquitous "Margaritaville," "Son of a Son of a Sailor," "Cheeseburger in Paradise," "Come Monday" and countless more. And his loyal legion of Parrot Heads will no doubt be in full force tonight, despite any concerns of cold weather.
As of now, the show is scheduled to go on as planned, but it probably wouldn't hurt to check back throughout the day at the BOK Center website just to make sure. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show is scheduled to begin at 8:10 p.m.
