Circle Cinema film
Local director Sterlin Harjo and local producer Chad Burris, premiere their most recent accomplishment,“Barking Water,” this weekend at the Circle Cinema. This movie has been recognized at the Sundance Film Festival and Venice Film Festival, among many others.
Harjo’s second feature length film, is a story about Irene (a recurring character in Harjo’s work, first featured in his short film “Goodnight Irene”) and her ex-husband on a road trip through Oklahoma so he can spend some time with his child and grandchild before his demise. Both moving and unsentimental, Harjo will debut this effort all weekend.
The first showing is Friday night at 7 p.m., followed by a Q&A session with Harjo, Burris and others from the movie and a second showing immedeately following.
Saturday features the same schedule with a small set from Fiawna Forte’ (which is how I got a movie reference in a music column – thanks Fiawna).
Tickets are $8 for members and $10 for civilians.
Congratulations to all involved.
