Drillers seek anthem performers

If you can carry a tune or play one, the Tulsa Drillers are looking for you.

Consider this the performance version of training camp. The Tulsa Drillers request that you send in a video recording of yourself or your group singing the entire "Star Spangled Banner." Either send a link to entertainment@tulsadrillers.com or send a DVD to:

Attn: National Anthem
201 N. Elgin Ave.
Tulsa, OK 74120.

Please include your name, daytime phone number and e-mail address with all submissions.

It is a huge honor. Lifelong performers with thousands of shows under their belts still remember individual performances of the National Anthem. And there's something doubly special about performing it at a baseball game, our national pastime.

The Drillers will review all entries and contact a select number of participants to come to ONEOK Field on Saturday, Feb. 11, for a final audition.

All entries must be received by Monday, Feb. 6 to be eligible.

"In the past, we have scheduled live tryouts, but time constraints limited the number of applicants we could consider," says Justin Gorski, the Drillers' Game Entertainment Manager. "By switching to the video applications, we can now open the process up to everyone that is interested in performing before one of our games. We anticipate being able to review a record number of interested parties."
