New Years Eve parties

Everyone knows that New Year’s Eve is always full of expectations and resulting let downs. There’s too much hype to live up to. But some events that might come close to your irrational expectations are the following: 1. The Eclipse with JFJO and The Panda Resistance: Two of Tulsa’s best acts for $20 and a gulp of unpalatable sparkling wine. But let’s be honest. You are not going for that swill but for the music. It should be a great way to ring in the new year at one of Tulsa’s newest and oldest live music venues. 2. Brookside ball drop in front of the KJRH Channel 2 news station. It's free admission if you bring a food item for the food bank. MidFirst Bank will also collect loose change to donate to the food bank. It's a great cause but I cannot find any music information anywhere. Caveat emptor.new-year-ball 3. Tulsa’s funniest DJ (Sweet Baby Jaysus) will be spinning at Soundpony tonight while a Yeti bartends (Eric Fransen). As always, admission is free. 4. Cosmo’s on Brookside will be celebrating New Year’s Eve with a 1920s speakeasy, “Great Gatsby” party. Add Miranda into the mix and you will have your hands full. 5. The safest (and what I’d be doing if I had my way, but Zahidah Hyman talked to the wife and now we’re headed to Keo – call 794-8200 for more information) way to spend the New Year’s Eve craziness - making out with your significant other on the couch. 6. Allow me to clarify the last entry: I don’t want to make out with your significant other. I want to make out with my wife but we are going out instead. 7. Happy New Year’s and don’t drive if you’ve been drinking, dummy!
