On Saturday, April 7, The Studios at Retro Den invite the community for a day of shopping, sales, fun and free activities, and birthday treats at the shop.

To celebrate shopping local and two big opening-day anniversaries, The Studios at Retro Den invite the community for a day of shopping, sales, fun and free activities, and birthday treats at the shop.

The Studios at Retro Den is a small-business co-op at 1216 S. Harvard. Retro Den, Oklahoma’s premiere vintage home store, celebrates 5 years in business this week. House Sparrow Fine Nesting, a handmade home textiles store based in Tulsa at The Studios at Retro Den, celebrates 3 years.

5 simple ways to freshen up your space, according to Retro Den

The Studios at Retro Den are handmade home textiles company House Sparrow Fine Nesting, stationery and calligraphy duo Laurel & Marie, sewing instructor Mary Perisho of Mary Make & Do, and modern quilting and fabric store Owl & Drum.

"We love being a part of and serving the Tulsa community," says Retro Den's Ashley Daly. "It's what gets us up each day — making homes pretty, planting plants, and making a place people feel welcome and inspired. Thank you, Tulsa for supporting our shop and other small businesses like ours; you are what makes it possible."

Hours for the birthday celebration will be Saturday, April 7, 11 a.m.-6 p.m.

One-day shop specials include:

Retro Den: Everything in the store (except Gus* line)—including Retro Den’s popular line of succulents and air plants, as well as an exclusive line-up of local, handmade home goods— will be discounted by 20 percent.

House Sparrow Fine Nesting: Everything in the shop will be discounted by 20 percent, including new, handmade macramé, yarn and supplies, and DIY kits. House Sparrow will also offer a drawing for two free tickets to an upcoming macramé, weaving, or indigo dye workshop. No purchase is necessary to enter.

Owl & Drum: As part of the annual Spring Sale at O&D, all merchandise—designer fabrics, patterns and kits, and craft and sewing supplies—will be discounted by 20 percent. Owl & Drum will also host a drawing for a $50 Owl & Drum gift card. No purchase is necessary to enter.


Mary Make & Do: Mary will offer her popular Absolute Beginner Sewing Class from 2-5 p.m. No experience is required. Class registration is available at Mary will also debut her Spring sewing-workshops calendar; students will be able to sign up in-store or online.


Laurel & Marie: L&M will open its calligraphy and stationery showroom, including a debut of new designs for spring. All prints and cards will be discounted 20 percent.

Admission to all Birthday Sale events are free and open to the public.
