Indie Emporium

The division of art and craft is a subject of great debate in art circles. And artists being the slightly contrary group that they are have been putting on “high craft” exhibitions to blur that line a little bit more. That, coupled with the recessionista and recycled chic that have overtaken the nation, makes this a perfect time to check out the Indie Emporium – which is “inspired by the handmade revolution.” indie-emporium

More than 40 hip craft vendors, an art gallery, “make and take” tables to create your own art (and demonstrations if you aren’t quite sure how to create yourself some art), and a fashion show will be taking place.

It’s located at the VFW on Sixth Street near Peoria Avenue (across the street from the Centennial Park) on October 9, from 7-10 p.m., and October 10, from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. and 8-9 p.m.

Tickets are $5 in advance (at Dwelling Spaces, Ida Red or The Felt Bird in Enid) or $8 at the door.

Visit www.indieemporium.com for more information.
