American Impressionism on show at Gilcrease

"Transcending Vision: American Impressionism 1870-1940" opens tomorrow at Gilcrease Museum. I'm headed to a special preview tonight. There will be more than 110 works by American Impressionists. When I lived in Norman, I volunteered at the Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art as a docent in their Weitzenhoffer Collection of French Impressionist paintings. After spending many hours with some French Impressionist work, I am excited to see the subtle differences in America's version of the style. I'll follow up after I see the show!
