2009 Dance on Camera Festival at Circle Cinema

After searching tirelessly for films of her favorite dancer, Isadora Duncan, Susan Braun founded the Dance Films Association in 1956. This organization is dedicated to finding, showcasing, preserving and championing dance films and videos all over the world. I've never considered how important it is to capture this art form in a way that it can be remembered, studied and preserved beyond the performance. I usually consider dancing to be like stage acting-- you practice and practice for those fleeting live performances. Friday, April 24 @ 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 25 @ 1:00 p.m. Sunday, April 26 @ noon $8 admission charge is good for both programs.  Programs run back-to-back, separated by a brief intermission which will feature live performances. Program A: Horizon of Exile, Mysteries of Nature, Beach Birds for Camera Program B: Terrain, La Vie Est Belle, Nora You can find more information about the films here.
