It's Friday — be happy

It’s Friday! That mean it’s time to loosen the tie and kick off the high heels (or switch to a stiletto, depending on your company). Many downtowners leave before the usual 5 o’clock rush because it's the end of the week, and some head directly to a local restaurant or bar for happy hour.

(Really, all hours after working a long day should be considered a “happy hour.”)Cheers to Friday!

For those who will be leaving downtown a bit earlier today and seeking the cool shade, outdoor lounging and bright blue sky, here a few happy hours at local hotspots.

Dilly Deli, 402 E. Second St. – Downtowners never have to drive far to drink a beer with Elliot Nelson’s presence. At his new deli restaurant, customers can sit on its back patio and sip on McNellie’s Pub Ale and eat delicious hot sandwiches, including their special “Mondy” (also known as a Pad Thai sandwich – it works!).

Open until 10 p.m. tonight.

Full Moon, 1525 E. 15th St. – A longtime Tulsa favorite for its menu and live entertainment, this patio is always happening on a weekend night. Happy hour is from 4-6 p.m. with $2 domestic longnecks AND half price appetizers. My favorite appetizer? The vegetarian quesadillas. Yum.

Open until 2 a.m.

Vintage 1740, 1740 S. Boston Ave. – I think Vintage is the favorite wine bar of many Tulsans because of its extensive wine list and chill atmosphere. I sat outside on its patio just the other night, and a smoking chimenea completely fit in with the chilly night. Whether you sit outside or move inside to a plush sofa, you're taste buds will be thanking you. If you’re more of a wine connoisseur, this is the place to go.

Open until 2 a.m.
