Shop, shop and shop
Antique and flea market shoppers will rejoice with not one, but three, chances to treasure hunt this weekend in downtown, midtown and Owasso.
This weekend calls for some serious shopping and a stop at the ATM. My motto is usually “Take out more than you plan to spend,” but that’s gotten me into some trouble before.
The Fur Shop, 520 E. Third St., will host an all-ages Rummage Sale during the Blue Dome Arts Festival. It’s like a garage sale on steroids ... with a 21+ after-party, of course. Visit the Fur Shop parking lot from 9 a.m.- 5 p.m., Saturday, for vendors selling antiques, garage-sale type items, vintage and handmade items, restaurant/bar equipment and much more. Shop to live music from DJ Speedbump from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. and Kelli Lynn and the Skillet Lickers from 3:30-4:30 p.m. Food trucks will be on site for shopping refreshments. Entry to the sale is $5, and parking is free. The after-party starts at 9:30 p.m. on the patio stage with musical acts Roots of Thought, Crazylove and Stinky Gringos.
The 2 Hip Chicks Roadshow rolls into Expo Square Exchange Center on Saturday and Sunday. This event features plenty of junk — meant in the best possible way — and repurposed items from vendors all over the region. Show hours are 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Saturday; and 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Sunday. Admission is $5, adults for both days; and free, children 12 and under.
If you haven’t found what your little heart desires, take the short drive to Owasso’s Flying Pig Outdoor Market, 202 E. First St. This two-day event has a measly $3 admission, but thanks to the plethora of antique vendors, you’re bound to find something you can’t live without. Market hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Saturday; and 11 a.m.-4 p.m., Sunday.
