We are always excited to learn when one of our own has received national recognition. And it happens often — Tulsa is a wealth of nationally recognized people, places, businesses and organizations, and the list keeps on growing.
This week, we learned that one of our media partners, 918moms.com, has been honored with a Communicator Award. The Communicator Awards is the leading international awards program honoring creative excellence for communications professionals, according to a press release. Making the award even more significant, 918moms.com was competing in a pool of more than 9,000 entries from companies and agencies of various sizes.
918moms.com received the Award of Excellence in the category of Family/Parenting websites, which is presented to entries “whose ability to communicate puts them among the best in the field,” the release noted. 918moms.com, a community website for moms in the 918 area code, launched in September 2008 as a vehicle for local moms to share stories and advice and learn how to save money. The site includes forums, blogs, a calendar of events, a directory and expert advice.
Additionally, 918couponqueen.com received an Award of Distinction in the Blog-Cultural category. Projects receiving the Award of Distinction are recognized for exceeding industry standards in quality and achievement. 918couponqueen.com has expanded to offer more than coupons and as a result can now be found at MoneySavingQueen.com, where visitors can learn about deals on restaurants, travel, entertainment, home improvements, technology and more.
Congratulations to both blogs for shining a spotlight on Tulsa ingenuity.
