Gospel music fans, listen up — the Gaither Vocal Band is back, and this time founder Bill Gaither has reunited with former members Michael English, Mark Lowry and David Phelps, along with rising star Wes Hampton, for a special concert celebrating the group’s musical legacy over the last 25 years.
The Gaither Vocal Band — Reunited Tour 2009, which is traveling to more than 12 cities across North America this fall, makes its way to the Mabee Center Saturday, Nov. 21, at 6 p.m.
The show also features performances from Ernie Haase and Signature Sound, Booth Brothers, Gordon Mote, Lynda Randle, Charlotte Ritchie and Kevin Williams. In addition to this lineup of special guests, Bill Gaither assures that audiences will hear plenty of his band’s Grammy-winning, chart-topping sound.
“For everyone out there who has been waiting for years to hear more Gaither Vocal Band on the program, this year you will finally get your wish, and based on the overwhelming response this group received from audiences this spring, these fall events promise to offer a very, very exciting concert experience,” Gaither said in a press release. “Music has a way of uniting people, but it is a powerful story of grace that reunites. This special Reunited Tour celebrates that message of hope sung by men who have experienced it first-hand. ”
